Woman Charged With Second Degree Murder After Pit Bulls Maul Grandson

If there is one thing that I’m very funny about (and I don’t mean funny ha-ha) is seeing dogs around babies, especially newborns. I love dogs. Haven’t got a problem with them and have pet sat many. But they are animals and can be unpredictable around little ones, even toddlers that they’ve known or been accustomed to since they were born.

I think pit bulls are especially dangerous. I don’t care how many times people tell me that they’re not an inherently vicious breed and those that are, are victims of how they were reared. I’d rather a Chihuahua or a dachshund nip me than be bitten by a pit bull. Throw in the fact that the adults can weigh up to 65 pounds, even if they’re playfully roughing and tumbling with a child, that’s a hefty weight for a toddler to contend with. Bearing that in mind the story of 20-month-old Paris Adams from Hartwell, Georgia is both sad and frustrating.
