I once had a very awkward family planning conversation with my granddad – yes my granddad. I can’t remember how it started I just remember being horrified by what he told me: “Remember, a condom is cheaper than a baby.”
Of course he made absolute sense. Although I was probably in my late teens or early 20s, his advice resonated with me. Growing up in the 1980s when people freaked out about HIV and AIDS using condoms to me seem like a no-brainer anyway. But apparently more and more people are ditching rubbers and using a more traditional, less reliable form of contraception.
