What One Fan’s Mom Told Ariana Grande to Do at the One Love Manchester Concert

I’m a Brit living in Los Angeles so the past two weeks have been hard for me. It’s horrible being thousands of miles away from home hearing of the Manchester Arena bombing and then, on Saturday, the London Bridge terrorist attack. It’s disturbing to see such images on screen and wonder, hope and pray that no one you know is a victim of the bloodshed.

I’ve felt angry and scared, pain for those who have died and been injured. But, as a Londoner who grew up in the 1980s during the IRA bombings, unfortunately I’m used to terrorist attacks and I know firsthand the determined spirit that we have, to go on with our lives and never be defeated. So the Ariana Grande One Love Manchester concert on Sunday was a beautiful healing moment of love and defiant celebration, so typical of Brits. And a message that the pop star shared from one of the victim’s relatives was particularly symbolic.
