If you’re in the market for a baby name, then you’re going to want to see this list! Either for inspiration, or to cross names off your list because they’re so popular. The Social Security Administration has released the top 100 baby names of 2017, and some of them look very familiar.
For the fourth year in a row, Emma claimed the top spot for girls! We have an upset on the boys’ list, with Liam bumping Noah down to number two.
Emma shows no signs of letting up as the most popular name in the country. It’s a great name! But pretty soon, we’re going to have an army of Emmas ready to take over the world.
In fact, the top five baby names for girls remain basically unchanged from 2016 to 2017. After Emma, the most popular names for girls were Olivia, Ava, Isabella, and Sophia.
There were a few surprises in the boys’ camp. Besides Liam kicking Noah out of the top spot, long-standing favorite Mason fell out of the top five, dropping two spots to #7. Out of nowhere, Logan jumped from #18 in 2016 to claim it’s place in the top five, landing at #5! Nicely done, Logans of the country.
