This Twin Was Born After His Brother, But He Is Technically Older

Who gets the "big brother" status in this case?

There is something special about knowing the exact time your baby was born. It’s one of those status that mothers know and can typically pull out the exact time if someone asks. But seriously don’t feel bad if you can’t because hello, sleep deprivation. But, if you have twins, that time of birth becomes a little more of a question with people wanting to know which twin is older.

Often the oldest twin is just a few minutes older, but sometimes there are twins who are born with times that you won’t expect. Some born days before, some born on different years thanks to December 31/January 1st babies.

This baby riddle going around the world comes courtesy of Scott and Emily Peterson, who delivered twin baby boys last year at a Massachusetts hospital. Their story was shared by the hospital, Cape Cod Healthcare, on Facebook, who challenged their followers to figure out the “riddle” of their birth.

The page posted the following question: “Riddle of the day: Samuel was born first, but his twin brother Ronan is older. How is that possible?”
