This I can totally relate to. While my marriage definitely has its ups and downs (because we would be lying if we said we didn’t), I wouldn’t say that it’s been the worst experience of my life. In fact, it’s quite the opposite, but at the same time, it’s been very stressful, demanding, and whole lot of hard work. But at the same time it’s given me a family I love and would die for and some of the happiest memories of my life.
There’s a fine equilibrium between putting in the work and enjoying the results you want out of a good and solid relationship. Right mamas?
Well, Hollywood actor Will Smith knows the feeling all too well as he recently went on the record to say while he loves his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, their twenty year marriage has also been the “most excruciating, grueling” experience of his life. In other words, it’s ain’t easy. Here’s what he says:
“You can’t expect it to be easy, it’s like our marriage was the most difficult, grueling, excruciating thing that we have ever taken on in our lives. And you know were just not quitters and by the same token we’re not apathetic. We’re not going to sit there and let it be painful, we’re going to keep working.”
“If there is a secret I would say is that we never went into working our relationship. We only ever worked on ourselves individually, and then presented ourselves to one another better than we were previously.”
