These Girls Prove That Faking A Disability Is Not In Style!

Now, before we get into this, let me just clarify that this isn’t another post about the Kardashian and Jenner families. Instead, it’s about one woman who is calling out 18-year-old Kylie Jenner for posing in a wheelchair on the cover of Interview Magazine. The provocative shot isn’t sitting well with both her fans and critics out there, as they say using a disability as art is both insensitive and downright offensive.

According to the Daily Mail, Erin Tatum has cerebral palsy, which affects her muscle movement and means she uses a wheelchair out of necessity and not as an accessory. She says that Kylie’s ‘faux disability’ isn’t cool or edgy. In fact, it’s downright insulting.

Here’s what she writes on her Tumblr page:

Honestly, I would have to agree with Erin here as I’m sure there are plenty of people who did a double take when they first saw Kylie’s cover. I mean, I could think of a million accessories that would work better than a wheelchair! I mean, whatever happened to a good old-fashioned pair of earrings?

Erin added: ‘Even if Kylie had nothing to do with the creative choices, it’s still tacky and the magazine itself should be embarrassed that the director thought faux disability would be a cool, edgy vibe to invoke on the cover. People like Kylie are praised as artistic and provocative, meanwhile actual disabled models can’t get jobs.’
