There’s a Major Mumps Outbreak Spreading Across the Country That’s Worrying Officials

Nobody enjoys needles and getting vaccinated, especially children. But being protected against contagious diseases such as the mumps or chicken pox is much better than suffering the uncomfortable and often painful symptoms of these viral illnesses.

Mumps, for example, can be prevented with MMR vaccine, which also protects against measles and rubella.

New reports show that hundreds of cases of mumps have been reported across the United States in 2017 so far, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
