As a freelance writer, I tend to stay up-to-date with all of the latest trends in parenting, pop culture and of course, social media. In fact, when the water bottle flip challenge was making waves several months ago, I knew all about it through social media. But when my daughter started flipping water bottles at home after school, I was surprised. She’s not on social media and I monitor everything she does on YouTube . Yet, she learned about the water bottle flip challenge through her friends at school. Of course, she learned all about it from her classmates at school. I’ll tell you that some of these trends spread like wildfire whether we parents like it or not!
But if there’s one trend that I hope she never catches wind of, it’s the eraser challenge. Once you understand what it’s all about, I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s the stupidest trend making the rounds these days! And even though kids have been doing it for years now, social media has made it worse. But not only is it stupid, but dangerous and it could leave some serious and permanent marks on your child’s skin, too.
