Teen Set to Graduate Was Told She Can’t Walk With Her Class Because She’s Pregnant?!

I went to an all girls’ Roman Catholic school when I was a teen growing up in the U.K. I don’t remember any of my classmates getting pregnant when I was there. It’s not impossible that one or two other students did. If so, they must have dropped out of school because I never saw them. Nevertheless, I always got the impression a teen pregnancy was considered to be among the most shameful of sins.

So my heart goes out to Maddi Runkles – an 18-year-old high school senior who attends Heritage Academy, a small Christian private school in Hagerstown, Maryland. She is pregnant but, apart from being a perfect student, her school is preventing her from performing a rite of passage.

What will Maddi Runkles’ Christian high school not allow her to do?
