The other night my husband and I were watching a Netflix show from Britain. He made a comment about how much I love shows from the UK because the women actresses actually look like real women. By that I mean they don’t have that over-botoxed ‘LA Face.’ It’s so refreshing to see women who look their age. Singer Pink may not be British, but she’s one of the few A-list women in US entertainment that also looks like a ‘real woman.’
Let’s be clear that I think any woman should be able to do whatever they want with their face. As long as that’s what makes them happy. Not to attain some unrealistic standard of beauty. I just think we’ve reached a place where so many actresses look the same. Women younger and younger are having cosmetic procedures. One only has to look at the Kar/Jenner clan and their matching lips to see what I mean.
The rise in the popularity of cosmetic augmentation, botox and plastic surgery has created a new ‘ideal’ for women that removes any signs of aging. It’s almost as if it were bad to get older. To show your experience on your face. Laugh lines are filled and faces are smoothed in the name of Hollywood beauty.
Not every woman feels the need to augment their faces however. Singer Pink, one of our fave Hot Moms, recently confronted a troll who attacked her appearance and now we love her even more.
