Doctor Confirms Period Cramps Are As Painful As Heart Attacks

Hi, DUH.

There are a lot of reasons why it’s great to be a lady. And there are some pretty big downfalls, too. One of the best things has to be the ability to carry and grow babies. The experience of being a mother — these are things that are complete magic for those of us who want to be mothers. And it’s a part of life I’m very thankful I got and get to experience. But, of course one of the biggest downfalls of that is period cramps. For many of us who get our period, they are very painful. Like painful isn’t really the best word because at times it can be flat out excruciating.

There are many people out there — both men and women — who don’t believe that period pain is really that big of a deal. When people discuss why they couldn’t go out or why they had to miss work because they got their period, they are met with eye rolls and dismissive comments saying that it can’t be that bad.

But, for thousands of women who deal with period cramps every month, the pain is more than people understand. And it’s a battle to get anyone to listen.
