Orange Is The New Black Actress Uzo Aduba Credits Her Mom With Giving Her The Best Advice She’s Ever Received

If you watch Orange is the New Black you no doubt love Uzo Aduba’s character of Suzanne ‘Crazy Eyes’ Warren. Uzo is incredible in her role and was recently awarded with the SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series as well as collecting another award along with her fellow cast members for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy series.


When in the press room after winning her awards, Uzo was answering questions from reporters when she was asked what the greatest piece of advice she’s ever been given was. Without missing a beat Uzo goes on to relay some wisdom her mother imparted on her as she dropped her off at the train station. Uzo was moving to New York to pursue her acting career and her mother, who Uzo said meant business because ‘she turned off the car’ then told her that ‘I have never heard of nothing coming from hard work. I don’t know what will come, I don’t know when it will come, but I know something will come if you work hard. ‘ Uzo then declared that it was the ‘best advice I’ve ever heard.’
