New Mother Wants to Ban Visitors for a Month and People’s Reactions Are Surprising

I remember when I had my first child, my in-laws were at the hospital in the waiting room while I gave birth, so I had visitors almost immediately. I didn’t really want anyone but my husband at the hospital so I was annoyed while I was in labor that people were waiting for me already. I understood though that they were as excited as I was to welcome a new member of their family.

I find that recently women are becoming more and more confident about asking for their privacy after enduring labor, requesting some time to bond with their child and recover before feeling the need to entertain visitors.

One woman recently posed a question on a popular mom’s online discussion board about banning visitors for an entire month, and surprisingly many people felt the same way.
