No one told me when you become a parent just how much time you would waste with snacks. Getting snacks… eating snacks… thinking about snacks. And apparently, hiding snacks too. It seems the more children you have the more snacks rule your life and thoughts. Also, with kids, if you want to get a snack for yourself you have to do it in one of two ways. You can either get a snack for everyone so the kids don’t steal what you’re eating. Or, the more preferred favorite — you hide your snacks. You hide the good stuff and eat it when the kids are in bed.
If you think back to when you were a child, I bet you had feelings that your parents were hiding the good stuff from you, too. And well, it turns out that feeling was right. A study has found that two-thirds of moms have their own secret stash of snacks. And it’s secret to hide it way from the family. To keep the good stuff for themselves. The survey found that 66 percent of moms that they polled admitted to hiding these snacks to avoid having to share them with their kids… and their partner.
