Carrie DeKlyen was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer last April while pregnant with her sixth child. The 37-year-old chose against experimental treatment so her daughter could live.
The baby girl, who Carrie and her husband Nick DeKlyen name Life Lynn, was born at a University of Michigan hospital on Sept. 6 at 24 weeks — the earliest a baby can be born and be expected to survive. She weighed only 1 pound and 4 ounces, and garnered worldwide attention.
