Mindy Kaling Admits She’s Anxious About Becoming a Mom

The media makes pregnancy look so beautiful and graceful and enjoyable. It totally was not for me! I was a hot mess.

I stopped looking at the scale during checkups once I passed the 50-pound mark. I was due in mid-August. Right smack in the middle of summer. That last trimester is excruciating when you’re stuck in the middle of a heat wave.

I remember waddling to the train station to catch the 5:25 p.m. home just to eat dinner, plop on the couch, and fall asleep by 8 p.m. I was exhausted and anxious – nervous about the labor and delivery, nervous about the pain, worried about my baby’s health.
