It’s no secret that Michelle Duggar and Jim Bob Duggar are almost as famous for their family rules as they are for having a ginormous family!
I’m not necessarily a Duggar family fan, but I find myself fascinated with them. Sometimes I feel sorry for the women who are married so young only to find themselves pregnant within months, or weeks, of their wedding day. But sometimes I think they’re happy with their lives as this is how they were raised, so who am I to judge. The grown children all seem to be quite happy with their lives and the path they’ve chosen to follow as adults, so while it’s definitely not the life many of us would want for ourselves or our daughters, it works for this family.
One of the things that has been the most controversial about this large family are the rules that they have been brought up with. There’s the ‘only side hugs’ until marriage rule, along with the various courtship rules, the ‘no social media’ until you’re engaged rule, and of course the ‘no pants’ rule for the Duggar women and girls.
While Jinger Duggar was the first to rebel and be seen wearing pants in public, she’s definitely not the last – big sister Jill Dillard was recently spotted wearing the comfy clothes.
