Kylie Jenner Criticized For Wearing Waist Trainer After Giving Birth

Would you do this?

There is so much pressure to look a certain way. We see people going into debt trying to achieve some perfect version of themselves just for social media. There are countless stories of girls who are depressed and getting bullied trying to fit some society mold of beauty. When you become a mother, that pressure seems to increase as you’re now battling against your changed body, hormones, and seriously unrealistic pressures. I felt it after the birth of my last child really hard, but it was definitely the worst for me after welcoming my first baby I can’t even imagine what the pressure of that feels like when your image is such a huge part of your career — like for new mom Kylie Jenner.

I have the luxury of just hanging with myself in my home and don’t have to worry about what millions of people are going to say about me. No one will be dissecting how much I’ve “bounced back” after having a baby. There are no photographers waiting outside to catch a look at what my belly looks like. I can’t even imagine and yet that’s a total reality for Kylie Jenner, who just welcomed her first child on February 1st.

The new mom did a really good job keeping her pregnancy a secret. I mean, we all knew about it but no one got any photos of the mom while she was pregnant. She kept hidden somehow, like zero sightings in the whole 9 months. There was a lot of online discussion on why Kylie Jenner might have chosen to be so private. Her, and her whole family, are kind of known for sharing everything. People speculated on if she was “letting herself go” during pregnancy. As if that’s a thing — and of course, people compared what her older sister, Kim, looked like. Kim was very vocal on not being happy with how she carried a pregnancy so it’s not unheard of that Kylie might have been worried about all the online and media hate. Kim got a lot of it, so Kylie was at risk.
