Kirk Cameron Says Hurricanes Are Sent by God for ‘Humility’ and ‘Repentance’

Looking around at the world right, everything seems pretty darn terrifying. Aside from the political climate, we now have the actual world climate to deal with and right now, Mother Nature seems pretty pissed off.

First, there was Hurricane Harvey, leaving an unprecedented amount of damage as the costliest hurricane to ever hit the United States, and now the entire state of Florida and now Georgia are looking at getting slammed by an even bigger hurricane. Add in the fact that there are two major hurricanes trailing in behind Irma and a literal earth-shattering giant earthquake that destroyed parts of Mexico last night and you have what looks like the start to the end, my friends.

But if you ask actor Kirk Cameron (you might remember him from Growing Pains, where he played the adorable screw-up brother), all of these natural disasters can be explained very simply: they are being sent by God to help us all repent and remember to be humble.

In a video that he posted from Orlando, Florida, and displayed on his Facebook page, Cameron gifted his viewers with his thoughts on all of the recent natural disasters as he left Florida safely behind.
