This Woman’s Quick Thinking Helped Save Her Life During An Alleged Kidnapping

This is so scary!

Many of us complain that our kids are on their phones too much, but in this case a phone may have saved one college student’s life.

Smartphones can be a bit scary for us as parents. We try to teach our kids to use them safely and smartly. Recently Snapchat introduced a location services option that had parents in an absolute panic. Naturally as parents we don’t want random strangers to be able to track our kids, but location services are helpful.

I’ve always loved the ‘find my iPhone’ option on my kids’ phones. Mostly because I can track them when they’re out and know if they are where they said they were. I also like it if my kids lose their phones, or they’re simply not answering. While location services options can be scary, they can also be helpful. It’s important that we know how to use them properly.

Sometimes location services can even life saving. Jaila Gladden was allegedly kidnapped and raped at the hands of a stranger as she was leaving a local grocery store.

Now police are crediting Jaila Gladden with sharing her location in text messages with her boyfriend for her rescue and safe discovery.
