These Ingrown Hair-Removal Videos Are Apparently Bizarrely Mesmerizing

That's a big NO THANK YOU from me.

There are a lot of fads on the internet I never really understood. I don’t know why people get so much out of those “100 things” videos. You know the ones where people put 100 things, or 100 layers of something on them. I’ve see people do 100 layers of foundation. Another where a guy had 100 layers of hairspray to his hair, 100 t-shirts — it never ended. Another bizarre thing to me is the videos of like gross health things that people like to watch. Dr. Pimple Popper — hi, no thank you. And the latest thing that people seem to be totally into is watching ingrown hair removal videos.

According to the medical expert site, WebMD, ingrown hairs are generally no big deal. OK, so what is an ingrown hair? “Ingrown hairs are hairs that have curled around and grown back into your skin instead of rising up from it.” Ew.

Thankfully, the site says that ingrown hairs aren’t generally dangerous. They’re more uncomfortable and embarrassing, but WebMD does mention that if you have a particularly nasty looking one that you should visit your doctor. Because they can get infected…

Some people try to treat them at home using a pair of tweezers and a close-up magnifying mirror. If you grab the hair, you can sometimes pull it out. It’s gross to think about, but apparently watching these close up removal videos of ingrown hair is mesmerizing to some people.

Move over Dr. Pimple Popper? Ingrown hair videos are the cool cat now?
