When that honeymoon phase is over!
Being in a relationship is nice, but it would be so much better if that partnership looks like what we see on TV or in movies. Where there's the big romance, all the tokens of love, appreciation and affection. Yes, there are hard times that we see, but in Hollywood, there is so much buildup to a new relationship.
What we don't often see is what happens when that honeymoon phase of new love is done. Not when you fall out of love and don't care for your partner anymore, but that middle part that comes after the romance is new and fresh and you're just living life. When you're comfortable with who you are and you're not trying to only show your shiny good parts.
It happens though and it's not a bad or good thing, but it is a real part of romance and relationships and it's not always glamorous. When we're sitting in bed livid that our partner is cutting their toenails right in front of you or when you're not all dressed and dolled up.
One artist from California named Mary Park put this phase into illustrations showing how the honeymoon phase leaves and the realness comes in and it's so relatable, I can't stop laughing.
