Dove Chocolate Is Being Recalled

Now, before you head for your nearest supermarket to stock up on holiday chocolates to give out to your loved ones (and hide a few for yourself), here’s something to keep in mind: Mars Chocolate North America is issuing a recall on 24 oz. bags of Dove Chocolate Assortment Snowflakes.

According to Good Housekeeping this past weekend, the recall is due to unlisted ingredients that could be possible allergens to consumers with peanut, wheat and egg allergies. The recalled bags may also include pieces of Snickers, Milky Way and Twix chocolate candies.

Now, just to reiterate, this doesn’t mean there’s anything bad or wrong with the Dove chocolates, instead the product just isn’t listing all of its ingredients on their bags. To be sure, check the bag of the package for the following item number and codes: Item Number 10139802,  UPC Number 400050521, and Lot Codes 537CG4PA30, 537DG4PA30, 538AG4PA30, 538AM4PA30, 541AG4PA20, 542EM4PA20.

If you have an affected bag, you may return the product to the store for a full refund, or call Mars Chocolate North America at 800-551-0907.
