‘Dear Prudence’ Columnist Roasts Expectant Dad for Shaming His Wife’s Baby Name Choices

Listen, we all know that baby naming can be stressful business. There’s no secret about that. Naming a child is an enormous responsibility and when two individuals are trying to name a human that they will be responsible for, there’s no doubt that there will some inevitable butting of heads.

You’ve probably heard the saying that you will never realize how many people you hate until it’s time to name your baby and that is 100% very true. My husband happens to be a teacher and let me tell you what, the fact that the majority of the names I wanted also happened to be his students’ name ruled out almost any chance of us agreeing. We actually had to settle on literally picking a name from the baby book at the hospital for our son because we couldn’t agree. Fun fact: the hospital will not release you if you don’t have a name for your baby picked out. Who knew?

The point, baby naming is serious business. But perhaps not quite as serious as one dad-to-be is taking it.
