Dad Blogger Slams Columnist Who Told Women Not to Let Their Career Make Them a Bad Mother!

When I had my children, I chose to stay home with them. I had previously worked for a software company in sales and marketing and I made a very nice paycheque. When I had my kids, I made the decision to stay home with them, partly because between my husband and I, I could afford to stay home, and partly because that was what I wanted to do.

Fourteen years and four kids later, I would be lying if I told you I hadn’t questioned that decision on more than one occasion, but for the most part I’m happy with my decision. I have many friends who run the gamut from stay at home mom, to work at home mom, to part time working mom, to full time working outside of the home mom. I think we’re all pretty damn good moms and we all do what we have to do to ensure that not only are our kids happy, but we’re happy too.

Still, some people think that if a woman chooses to have a career and work outside of the home and she has children, that her children will suffer.
