The birth of the twins was attended by three midwives as well as Mitchell’s family and other church members.

State Medical Examiner Dr. Karen Gunson told KATU News that while she can’t be positive that Ginnifer would have survived even if she did receive medical treatment, her chances would have been much better.

She said she estimated the twins were born approximately 2 months early from the autoposy report, and ruled the infant died of complications of prematurity, specifically relating to oxygen intake from the lungs.
