Common Medication Given to Women in Labor Has Been Linked to Postpartum Depression and Anxiety

Being a new mom is a real challenge, even for the most prepared, that phase right after labor and getting to know your child is hard. It can be even more of a struggle for moms who are battling postpartum depression and anxiety, too.

Finding support and understanding for postpartum depression and anxiety is important to make sure women get the help they need. But, equally important is to try and understand if there may be anything that puts a woman at risk for developing the serious mood disorder.

Now, there’s new indications that a common medication that’s given during labor so so many moms-to-be may be a catalyst for postpartum depression and anxiety.
