It can be hard to allow our children to go out into the word. If you suffer from anxiety or you’ve had something challenging happen to you when you were younger, that fear can be stronger. We always hear these stories of bad things happening to our kids when they’re not in our care — if they’re being babysat or at a friend’s house. Most often nothing happens other than your child having a fun time and making a good friendship. But other times things go wrong and that’s what happened to 14-year-old Cindy Redmond.
The young girl forever had her life changed when she was a friend’s house. She upset the stepfather, he made a decision to show is frustration. Now Cindy Redmond’s life is changed forever. She has not been able to go to school for a year and her life is now about managing debilitating pain. Cindy has doctors appointments and meetings to try and reduce the challenges in her life that are forever there because of the stepfather’s decision.
We hear stories of needing to worry and ask about guns in the houses of places where our kids are going. But that’s not what happened here. Unfortunately, Cindy’s life is changed all because of something we don’t usually think too much of — an air horn.
