Child’s X-Ray Is a Chilling Reminder of Just How Important It Is to Cut Our Kids’ Food

A few weekends ago, my kids’ uncle was over for dinner and helpfully offered to get my four-year-old’s dinner plate ready.

He loaded up a hot dog, grapes, and chips on his plate and as he went to serve it to my son, my husband swooped in from across the kitchen. “Just have to cut these up first,” he said, wielding a knife while he expertly sliced the grapes and hot dogs down the middle. He gave my brother a little mini-lesson in the importance of always cutting kids’ food as I listened in appreciation in the background.

As kids grow, it may be tempting to skip cutting up their food, but one mom recently shared an image that can remind us just how important it is to cut our kids’ food, even when they are older.

This photo will show you should still cut your older kid’s grapes.
