If You Recently Had a C-Section You Need to Start Chewing Gum ASAP!

According to Science!

A new study published in The Journal of Maternal-Fetal & Neonatal Medicine found some pretty interesting things out lately! It found that about one in five women are diagnosed with a condition called postoperative ileus, after a C-section, reported The New York Post.

Basically, this mans that after having a c-section, a woman’s bowels aren’t functioning properly, slows, or stop entirely. Any form of surgery that opens the abdomen can cause this, not just a c-section.

Definitely not something a new mom wants to deal with after being up all night, though.
