Boys Upset Over School’s Strict Dress Code So They Played the System and Their Idea Went Viral

Why Not?

Claire Lambeth has a son at the school and had originally asked about her son wearing shorts, but says she was ‘shot down.’
“He said it was unbearable. I spoke to a teacher to ask about shorts and she said it was school policy [that they could not be worn]. I did say this was exceptional weather, but they were having none of it. If girls can wear skirts, why can’t boys wear shorts?” she said to The Guardian.
Another woman said it’s all about equality and fairness.
“Children also don’t like injustice,” she said. “The boys see the female teachers in sandals and nice cool skirts and tops while they are wearing long trousers and shoes and the older boys have to wear blazers. They just think it’s unfair that they can’t wear shorts in this heat.”
Parents are proud of their sons for standing up and making a statement.
“I feel extremely proud of them all for standing up for their rights. People are always talking about equal right for males and females and school uniform shouldn’t be any different”, Claire Reeves told the BBC.
I think not being able to wear shorts in 90 degree weather is ridiculous, especially since the school could offer shorts as part of the uniform that they agree upon. What do you think? Should the boys be able to wear shorts? Let us know your thoughts and don’t forget to SHARE with your friends.
