A Doctor Asked Dying Kids What Really Matters In Life And Their Answers Are Unexpected
There's a lot to learn here.

I’m sorry. This post is going to maybe make you cry. It’s packed full of heartstrings pullers including children who are putting on the bravest of struggles. I hurt to even really think about this. But these children are all fighting a terminal illness. And doctor Alastair McAlpine has been working with these children and shared some of their wisdom.
The doctor who, according to his Twitter bio, works in Cape Town as a pediatrician. Dr. McAlpine took to Twitter to share an assignment he gave to the kids in his care who were battling a terminal illness. He wanted to know what gave them joy in life and what they feel really matters. Their answers are incredible and there is so much we can all learn from these little, old souls.
He asked the question, “For an assignment, I asked some of my terminal paediatric palliative care patients what they had enjoyed in life, and what gave it meaning. Kids can be so wise, y’know. Here are some of the responses .”
And their responses are full of so much wisdom. The world is going to be better if we all take a moment to read what these kids said. What they feel matters most in life and what gave them meaning.
